I was introduced to Sonic with SA1, so I'm more native to the 3D generation, but I have played most of the early games, CD, the first one, and others. Honestly I can't see Sonic doing the same style for 20 years, I like the fact Sega branches out the characters and gives each game a unique plot.. I even loved Sonic 06 :>
It seems more to me that the fandom is the problem with all its bitching than the actual games itself. I feel bad for Sega for those who can't get out of nostalgia land... I would love to see SA2 remastered. Can you imagine with those graphics how kickass that'd be?
1: I like the faster gameplay.
2: I like the music more.
3: Games staring animals are usually more fun to begin with for me.

mario does star animals or monsters or whatever. it may be uncreative and boring to me but at least it doesnt breed furries like sonic does.
Also, I never said human games are unfun, I just have more fun as an animal or a monster than as a human, mostly cause I can be human all I want in real life. And last time I checked, an animal, unless you count Yoshi, is never the main protagonist in Mario, infact more often than not, the ANTAGONIST is an animal. ...Which might account for another reason I don't like Mario as much. ...Although I'm not all that wild about a Human being the antagonist of an anthro game either. Humans VS Anthro games don't sit right with me cause I don't like beating up animals as a human, but at the same time, I don't really like beating up humans with an animal either. ...Wait, does anyone even care?
Also, I'd rather play Sonic Rush Adventure than New Super Mario Brothers, and I'd also rather play Sonic Colors Wii than Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Remember it's all fiction, it's hero vrs monster ect in innocent games there's no underlying meaning, im all for the equality of human and animals but sonic games make them bad too, animal heroes v all humans are evil, ect. If youre gonna go for the full 'oh i shouldn't fight this because it's a ___ and apparently in this game all ___ are evil' you shouldnt get all up and fighting robots ect, sonic games make the robots out to have heart too. It's all up to opinion but I don't think you should just be bias to human based games against monster-things than animal based games because really neither are better just by that it's the quality.
The new sonic games suck so I'm never going to follow your opinion on that, those two games you mentioned sucked to me, and I don't play mario I find it recolour repetitive lacking in story, but I would rather play a LoZ game than either or a Spyro game, those were fun. It's all opinion and in all honesty sonic's lost all it's charm by doing what the fans want, which always comes out crap or ripping off mario games. So you gotta credit both then. And if the only reason you play it more than a mario game is because lol animals that's a bit well, it's the like furry version or racisim.

Also, I kind of feel your opinion on today's Sonic games, it's rubbing off as biased right now. But all in all, I personally would rather play Pokemon.
Also, if you hate the newer Sonic games so much, why did you make this stamp?
Though take this stamp as a message, if youre in the fandom dont be bitching about the games, and accept them all if youre really a fan you would like all of them and there's no point in complaining, if you've stopped liking them then call yourself a fan of the games you do like and gtfo. as i am proceeding to do so.
